Tagg combines a permanent local catalogue with carefully governed outside facts. Providers never become your public identity, and missing artwork is never replaced with something fake.
Tagg owns the identity
Every title, rating, review, Library status, list and profile action uses a permanent Tagg UUID. A data provider can change or go offline without taking your activity with it.
Sources stay honest
Provider facts keep their real provenance. Tagg does not relabel old records, invent popularity, or turn a provider score into a Tagg trend.
Images follow provider controls
Artwork is shown only when Tagg's recorded provider controls enable it. Those controls do not replace provider or rights-owner approval. Otherwise Tagg renders a designed title card from the title, year and type.
Your taste stays separate
Providers supply catalogue facts. Private ratings, recognition, Library state and recommendation signals stay inside Tagg and are never provider identity fields.

Movies, series and anime
Eligible metadata may be provided by TheTVDB. TheTVDB artwork is not displayed unless separate written rights are recorded.
TheTVDBGames
Eligible game facts, companies and platforms may be provided by IGDB. IGDB artwork is displayed only when Tagg's recorded provider controls enable it.

Identity links, aliases and selected basic facts may come from Wikidata under CC0.

A Wikimedia Commons file is used only after its licence, creator, source and attribution requirements are verified.
Wikimedia CommonsExisting real TMDB and AniList records keep their original provenance during the catalogue migration. Tagg does not relabel them as another provider.
